According to talkSPORT, Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal in principle to sign Monaco forward Thomas Lemar in the summer.
The forward has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal failing in a late bid to sign the 22-year old last summer. Now it appears that Liverpool are close to an agreement in principle to bring the French international to Anfield in the summer.
Lemar, who has two years left on his current contract, came to prominence last season as his 14 goals and 17 assists helped Monaco to the Ligue 1 title. That caught the attention of a host of big name clubs, but he ended up staying in the Principality because no side was ready to meet Monaco’s £88 million asking price.
He has not had such a good campaign this time round, with only three goals and eight assists, but Liverpool are still keen on his signature.
