According to talkSPORT, Liverpool are in pole position to sign Nice midfielder Jean Michel Sari in the summer.
The 26-year old Ivorian international who has been likened to N’Golo Kante because of his style of play, is available for £35 million due to a clause in his contract, and although a number of other Premier League clubs are interested in the player, including Manchester United, Arsenal and Spurs, Liverpool are said to be winning the race to capture his signature.
Seri was all set to join Barcelona last summer, but the deal fell through when Nice increased the price for the midfielder at the last minute. The Catalans have since lost interest, meaning that the Premier League remains his likely destination once the transfer window opens again.
Liverpool have already signed Naby Keita from RB Leipzig for £48 million for next season, and, with Emre Can likely to leave for Juventus, adding Seri to the squad would represent a major revamp to their midfield next season.
