The Sun claims that Paul Pogba is ready to quit Manchester United in the summer if Jose Mourinho remains in charge at Old Trafford.
The pair have been in conflict over Pogba’s best position in the team, with the Frenchman preferring to play on the left-side of midfield, whilst his manager has preferred to deploy him in a deeper role alongside Nemanja Matic. Pogba was dropped for the home win against Huddersfield, and a furious training ground then ensued, with Mourinho reputedly telling his £89 million signing that he was the boss.
Pogba was restored to the starting line-up for Sunday’s match with Chelsea – although his performance was largely anonymous – but reports have emerged that his agent Mino Raiola is trying to engineer a summer escape plan for his client, with both Real Madrid and former club Juventus both in the frame for his signature.
Mourinho has just signed a contract extension at Old Trafford until 2020, so given that Pogba has, according to one source, said that he does not want to be at United if the Portuguese is the manager, then there looks to be only one outcome to this story.
