Antonio Conte ready to see out his Chelsea contract

Chelsea manager Antonio Cone has insisted that he is ready to see out his contract at Stamford Bridge, reports The Daily Mail.

Speaking to reporters after his club’s 1 -1 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Conte said “I have a contract to 2019. I intend to respect it”. However, he also noted that “anything can happen in football”, and that “in our line of work we always have a bag packed”.

Despite winning the Premier League in his first season with Chelsea, Conte has enjoyed a temperamental season, and his relationship with his board has been strained, with the Italian upset over what he perceives to be the club’s failings in the transfer market this campaign.

Poor recent results against Bournemouth at home and away to Watford led some observers to think that Conte was on the brink of the sack, but Chelsea have since improved and have reached the last eight of the FA Cup, and are back in the top four.

Should Conte leave or be dismissed he will not have to hunt for another job, as PSG, AC Milan and the Italian national team are all said to be interested in his services.
