According to The Mirror, both Manchester United and Chelsea have suffered a blow with the news that Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal is happy in Germany and is not looking for a move.
The 30-year old Chilean has 18 months left on his current contract, and there has been frequent speculation linking him with a move away from the Allianz Arena, with both Manchester United and Chelsea both said to be interested in signing him.
However, the player himself has looked to distance himself from such reports saying “I’m not looking for a transfer. I am very happy here. Of course I would like to extend my contract. That’s an option”.
Vidal has scored six goals in 18 league games for Bayern this season.
His comments have dashed speculation that he is going to join international team mate Alexis Sanchez at United. The pair were part of the Chile team that won back to back Copa Americas in 2015 and 2016, although the pair have not always enjoyed the best relationship, either on or off the pitch, with each vying to be the star player.
