Spurs winger Erik Lamela has quashed reports about a return to Italy, saying he is happy at the club and likes living in London, The Daily Express reports.
25-year old Lamela, who scored his first goal of the season for Tottenham in their 2 – 0 FA Cup Replay win against League 2 side Newport Town on Wednesday has recently returned to first team action, having been out for a year after surgery to repair a hip injury.
The player has recently been linked with a move away from North London, with Juventus, former club Roma and particularly Inter Milan linked with a summer move for the Argentinian international in the summer. However, Lamela who joined Spurs from Roma in a £25 million deal in August 2013 has now moved to distance himself from such rumours.
He told Gazetto dello Sport “The club (Spurs) is getting better and better, and I love living in London. There’s never been anything with Juventus. Inter? I only think about the club I am at, and I am very good here at Tottenham.”
