The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester United are ready to pip Liverpool to the signature of young Borussia Dortmund Christian Pulisic.
The 19 year old US international has a growing reputation in Europe, and is also being tracked by Bayern Munich, who are hoping to persuade him to remain in the Bundesliga. However, Pulisic, who can play either as an attacking midfielder, or as a winger, has expressed the desire to play in England at some stage in his career, with United now said to be ahead of Liverpool in the race for his signature.
Despite his name, derived from a Croatian grandfather, Pulisic was born and raised in the US, and began his career with local development club PA Classics, before securing a move to Dortmund as a 16 year old. He has subsequently made 81 appearances for the German club in all competitions, scoring 11 goals.
He has already earned 20 full caps for the USA and, in 2016, became the youngest American player to score a goal in World Cup qualifying history.
