It’s a family affair – Swansea break transfer record to reunite Ayew brothers

One deadline day deal that was completed, as reported by talkSport, was the re-signing by Swansea City of Andre Ayew from West Ham for a club record fee of £18 million.

That reunites him with his younger brother Jordan who currently plays for Swansea having signed from Aston Villa a year ago, although the pair have never played for the Welsh club together.

28-year old Ayew was sold by Swansea to West Ham for £20.5 million in the summer of 2016, and he scored 9 goals in 43 appearances for the Hammers, although he failed to hold down a regular first-team place in East London.

Both brothers represent the Ghanaian national team.

In his place, West Ham have signed Preston striker Jordan Hugill in a £10 million deal, with the 25-year old joining after the Championship side decided they could not stand in the player’s wish to play Premier League football.
