Burnley complete transfer of Everton winger

Burnley have completed the signing of Aaron Lennon from Everton for £1.5 million reports the Daily Mail.

The 30-year old winger has become Burnley’s first permanent deal of the transfer window, and has moved after becoming surplus to requirements at Goodison Park following the arrival of Theo Walcott last week.

Lennon joined Everton in 2015 from Tottenham, and scored seven goals in 63 appearances for the Merseyside club. He began his career with his home town club Leeds, before moving to Spurs in 2005, for whom he 364 times in all competitions, netting 30 times. He also has 21 full England caps.

Last year Lennon was briefly sectioned under the Mental Health Act after he was found by police wandering near a busy motorway in Salford, near Manchester. However, he has gone on to make a full recovery, and is looking forward to playing a prominent role with his new club
