SkySports report that West Bromwich Albion are interested in buying striker Aleksander Mitrovic from fellow Premier League strugglers Newcastle United.
The 23-year old striker has been at Newcastle since joining the club from Anderlecht in July 2015, but although featuring heavily for the club in his first season in the Premier League, and again last season when they were in the Championship, he has fallen out of favour this campaign for the newly promoted club, and has had to be content with appearances from the bench, not having started a single Premier League match.
Mitrovic has been out of action for a month with a back injury, but is now on his way back to fitness. The forward has made 72 appearances in all competitions for Newcastle, scoring 17 times. He is also a full Serbian international with 33 caps so far to his name.
Any move for Mitrovic from West Brom is dependent on them receiving funds from the sale of central defender Jonny Evans but manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that the club have received no offers as yet for a player who has been linked with moves to Manchester City and Arsenal.
