According to The Metro, Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks to sign winger Lucas Moura from Paris Saint-Germain.
The Brazilian winger has long been linked with a move to Manchester United, but with the Old Trafford side now on the verge of signing Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, Spurs are ready to step in with a bid instead.
The 25-year old, who has 36 full caps for Brazil, was once regarded as one of the up and coming stars of World football, but injuries, and the arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in Paris, have seen him fall down the pecking order at PSG, and he only play a combined 85 minutes for the first team this season.
The asking price for Lucas is reported to be around £35 million, but Spurs will be looking to pay substantially less for a player who is out of contract at the end of next season. And their ability to drive a hard bargain will be strengthened by the knowledge that PSG are under pressure to sell players before the end of the transfer window to comply with FFP (Financial Fair Play) regulations
