Theo Walcott completes move to Everton from Arsenal

As reported by ESPN, Theo Walcott has completed his move from Arsenal to Everton in a £20 million deal.

Walcott had been at Arsenal since joining as a 16-year old from Southampton, and had been the longest-serving player at The Emirates, scoring 108 goals in nearly 400 games. However, a switch to a back three has seen his first-team appearances limited this season, and he has played only a handful of minutes in the Premier League.

Now he has decided to move to Merseyside in the hope of restarting his career, and perhaps making a late bid to force his way into the England squad for this year’s World Cup.

Walcott becomes Sam Allardyce’s second major signing of the transfer window, after the arrival of Cenk Tosun from Besiktas, and he could be in line for his debut for his new club this Saturday when Everton play West Bromwich Albion at Goodison Park.
