Arsenal defender pursued by West Brom and St-Etienne

Out of favour Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy has been linked with moves to both West Bromwich Albion and French club St-Etienne as he tries to secure a move away from the Emirates, according to the Daily Mirror.

Debuchy has had a chequered history since arriving at Arsenal in a £12 million transfer from Newcastle United in July 2014, with his career at the club blighted by a number of serious injuries which have resulted in Hector Bellerin replace him as the starting right back for the club.

The player spent 5 months on loan at Bordeaux two seasons ago, but his stay in his native France was curtailed by injury, and he returned to Arsenal before suffering another long lay-off.

He has now returned to full fitness but has found his first-team opportunities limited so far this season, making only seven appearances, all in cup competitions.

Now he is looking for a permanent move away and with Arsenal ready to let him go, it is a question of whether he is heading to the Midlands or back to France.
