As reported by The Mirror, Manchester United forward James Wilson has joined Championship side Sheffield United on loan for the rest of the season.
The striker has been top scorer for the under-23 side at Old Trafford this season, but it has been 15 months since he last played a senior game after picking up another injury during a previous loan spell with Derby County.
This will be Wilson’s third loan at Championship level, having also played 27 games with Brighton, for whom he scored 5 goals.
The Staffordshire-born player has been at United since he was 7 years old, but has struggled to break into the first team, with his appearances limited to brief substitute cameos. However, now he has the chance to press his credentials yet again with the Sheffield club looking for promotion back to the Premier League.
He also has a high profile fixture to look forward to for his first match, which is the Steel City derby on Friday, with Sheffield United taking on their city rivals Wednesday.
