Chelsea are ready to complete a deal for Juventus full-back Alex Sandro in the January window, with a fee of around £50 million set to be agreed.
The Stamford Bridge outfit tried to sign Sandro last summer but were rebuffed by the Italian club at the time. However, the Italians are now ready to off-load the Brazilian, who wants to leave Turin, and have already begun the hunt for his replacement, with another Brazilian, Wendell, who plays for German side Bayer Leverkusen, top of their shopping list.
The Blues have decided to make an early move for Sandro to try and head off Manchester United, who are also interested in the player, although they continue to be heavily linked with a move for Tottenham’s Danny Rose.
26-year old Sandro began his career in Brazil before moving to Europe with Porto. He transferred to Juventus in August 2015, and has since made 94 appearances for the Italian club, and scored 6 goals. He also has 10 full caps for Brazil.
