Manchester United have enquired about the availability of Chelsea star Willian in the January transfer window.
Although he is popular amongst fellow players and fans at Stamford Bridge, the 29-year old is frustrated by his lack of starting opportunities under manager Antonio Conte, with most of his appearances coming as a substitute off the bench.
Willian scored in Chelsea’s 3 -1 midweek win away at Huddersfield, and speaking after that match seemed to indicate he was happy to stay at Stamford Bridge for this season.
United manager Jose Mourinho is a fan of the player whom he coached when they were both at Chelsea, and may be prepared to make a concrete approach for the Brazilian who has made more than 200 appearances for the Blues since signing from Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer of 2014.
If Willian were to make the move to Old Trafford he would find himself reunited with other Chelsea old boys in the shape of midfielders Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
