Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Arsenal are not prepared to sell Mesut Ozil to Manchester United in January.
The 29-year old German midfielder, who scored the winner as Arsenal beat Newcastle on Saturday, is out of contract at The Emirates, and has been linked with a move away, with United regarded as favourites to capture Ozil and reunite him with Jose Mourinho whom he played under when was at Real Madrid.
However, Wenger has confirmed that any attempt to sign Ozil by United in January will be rebuffed, whilst, at the same time, indicating that he expects Alexis Sanchez to remain at Arsenal until the end of the season.
As both players will have less than 6 months left on their current deals, they are free to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs in January. However, if another Premier League club wants either player, they will need to wait until the summer window opens before making a formal approach for them.
