Tottenham and Everton are the latest clubs from the Premier League to show an interest in German teenager Jann-Fiete Arp.
They join Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal who are already monitoring the young striker who has attracted widespread interest across Europe, making headlines earlier this season when he became the first player born in the year 2000 to both play and score in the Bundesliga.
Arp has already made 5 appearances for Hamburg’s senior side this season, which underlines how far the 17-year old has come, given that he was still playing youth football last season.
Likened to a young Harry Kane, Arp scored 26 goals in 21 games for Hamburg’s under-17 side last season; he was also prolific at international level, scoring 7 goals for Germany at the under-17 European championship and following that up with 5 goals at the U17 World Cup held in India, which was won by England.
Andy is an exiled English football fan living in Cyprus. He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
