AC Milan have joined Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in showing an interest in Real Madrid central midfielder Dani Ceballos.
The 21-year old has only been with Real since July, having joined from fellow Spanish club Real Betis in a £16 million deal, signed as part of club President Florentino Perez’s efforts to get more local players in Los Blancos squad.
However, he has only played 186 minutes in La Liga this season, and it appears that manager Zinedine Zidane does not feel that his style fits the type of football that he wants Real to play.
That has prompted Ceballos to look to move again, as he looks for more regular first-team opportunities.
Ceballos has 22 caps at under-21 level for Spain and is regarded as one of the brightest midfield prospects in Europe. He has been linked already with a move to the Premier League, with both Arsenal and Spurs said to be monitoring his situation. Now AC Milan may be ready to throw their hat into the ring, according to Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato, although, given the club’s perilous financial situation, it is unclear if they have the transfer budget to match their Premier League rivals.
