If Shaw is set to leave Old Trafford, Manchester United might have a ready-made replacement already lined-up in the shape of Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon.
The young left-back is only 17, but has already made more than 50 appearances in The Championship for the West London club, establishing a reputation as one of the brightest young talents in the country, with his ability to dominate games from full-back likened to Gareth Bale at the same age.
He also has an eye for goal, as he demonstrated with a hat-trick last month, as Fulham beat Sheffield United 5 -4 away.
Sessegnon has made 14 appearances for the England under-19 squad, scoring 4 goals in the process, and, last season was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year, the youngest player ever to earn such an accolade.
However, despite signing a contract with Fulham at the start of this season committing him to the club until 2020, they have resigned themselves to losing him in January, and have already begun the search for his replacement.
In return they can expect a sizeable fee for a player for whom there will be great demand, although United are said to be head of the queue.
