Abramovich expected to make an offer to sacked Hull boss

cfc rumors

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is set to offer sacked Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky an immediate return to football after he was sacked by the Championship club after a poor run of results.

Abramovich and Slutsky are old friends, and with the technical director role at Stamford Bridge still vacant after the departure of Michael Emenalo, it could be a perfect fit for the 46-year old who became the first Russian to manage in England when he took over the Hull job after Marco Silva left for Watford at the end of last season. However, he was sacked after less than 6 months in the role, with his side struggling in 20th place in the Championship.

When Slutsky first came to England, it was Abramovich who put him up in the Chelsea hotel, gave him tickets for games and access to the club’s Cobham training ground, whilst the 46-year old studied English and learned about the British game.
