Sergio Aguero has stated that he intends to leave Manchester City when his current contract expires at the end of next season.
The South American has long harboured a dream to return to his native Argentina and play again for his boyhood club Independiente before he retires. Now City’s record-breaking goal scorer has confirmed his intention to leave The Etihad at the end of the 2018 – 2019 campaign.
Aguerro first joined Independiente when he was just 9 years old, and spent none years at the club before moving to Europe to join Atletico Madrid, and then City.
One potential problem for Aguerro may be that City thinks that he is under contract until 2020. The confusion arises because his current deal includes an option to sign for another year, which City believe he has already committed to, whilst Aguerro himself thinks this is still to be negotiated.
