Liverpool are planning a shock move for Manchester City playmaker David Silva, over doubts about his long-term future at The Etihad.
Silva has been in impressive form this season and had another fine game in Sunday’s home win against Arsenal, setting up Gabriel Jesus for City’s third goal (even though replays later showed he was offside). However, despite having made 11 appearances in all competitions already this campaign, the Spanish international’s future in Manchester is by no means certain.
The 31-year old has 18 months left on his current contract and would like to extend it, but, with City have made no moves to offer him a new deal yet, that opens the door to other interested parties with Inter Milan also said to be monitoring his situation.
Liverpool consider Silva as a potential replacement for Adam Lallana because of doubts over the ability of the midfielder to return to full fitness at Anfield.
