Real Betis interested in January transfer for Arsenal midfielder

wilshere future

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere may be set for a January move to Spanish side Real Betis as he struggles for game time at The Emirates.

The England international is in the final year of his contract in North London, and, so far, there have been no discussions about extending his stay, Manager Arsene Wenger stated last week that Wilshere’s contract position needed to be resolved by December, whilst admitting at the same time that the player is effectively competing with Mesut Ozil for the same position.

Wilshere is desperate for more playing time, as he still harbours ambitions of forcing his way into England’s World Cup squad next year. His first team appearances so far this season have been limited to Europa League and Carabao Cup matches, apart from brief cameo appearances in the Premier League in Arsenal’s away trips to Everton and Manchester City.

Now it appears that a move to Betis could be on the cards. The Spanish side tried to sign Wilshere in the summer, but, at the time, the player decided to try and fight for his place with The Gunners. This time around they may be successful, unless Arsenal and Wilshere can come to some sort of agreement in the meantime.
