Real Madrid are reported to be considering Marcus Rashford as an alternative if they fail to land their main transfer target, Harry Kane, next summer.
Kane has long been top of the Real shopping list, and his performance in Spurs’ draw at the Bernabeu will only have impressed them more. It was Kane who pressurised Raphael Varane into conceding an own goal, and only a finger-tip save from Keylor Navas saw him fail to get on the scoresheet himself.
However, any deal for Kane would cost in excess of £150 million, and with Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy a notoriously hard bargainer, Real are said to be considering other alternatives if they cannot prise the forward away from North London.
Now Real are said to be considering Rashford as Plan B if they cannot sign Kane. Cristiano Ronaldo has apparently sanctioned such a move, although the young England forward, who will surely feature in next year’s World Cup, will not come cheap either.
