The 30 year-old PSG striker has seen his place as “King of Paris” usurped by Neymar since the Brazilian’s world-record transfer to France in the summer, and the two have since had a major on-field clash over penalty-taking responsibilities.
According to the Spanish newspaper Don Balon, Uruguay international Edison Cavani wants to move to the Premier League giants Manchester City in January.
Although the cracks in their relationship have since been papered over, there are said to be ongoing problems behind the scenes, and rumours that Neymar wants Cavani out of the club.
It appears that the former Napoli and Palermo striker may be ready to make a move, with Manchester City said to be his preferred destination. Manchester United, Real Madrid and Everton have also been spoken of as potential candidates for his signature, but United and Real already have plenty of striking options, whilst Everton are not regarded as sufficiently high profile for a player of his stature.
