Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will send scouts to watch Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye when the Serbian side take on Arsenal in their Europa League tie this week.
The 24-year old is already known to the Italian when Boakye had a brief spell at Juventus five years ago when Conte was manager there. At that time, Boakye was judged not good enough to justify a first-team place, but, after a football journey that he has seen him play already for 8 different clubs, the Ghanaian has really begun to catch the eye with his goal scoring in Serbia.
Boakye, who has 12 international caps for his country, and has scored three goals already for his club this season, is also being watched by other clubs, including Celtic, Swansea City and Crystal Palace.
Conte wants to add depth to his striking options at Stamford Bridge. Big-money signing Alvaro Morata has been a big hit since his move to London in the summer, but he is injured, and Conte appears to have serious reservations about the ability of Michy Batshuaya to lead the line in his stead.
