Manchester United forward Anthony Martial is wanted by both Barcelona and Arsenal according to reports in a number of papers over the weekend.
Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo featured the young French striker on their front page, reporting that the Catalan club view Martial as a major transfer target, with the chances of signing Philippe Countinho looking increasingly slim, and with the summer’s big signing, Ousmane Dembele, facing a prolonged spell out with injury.
Meanwhile Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger regards Martial as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez because of his ability to play both through the middle and in wide positions.
Martial is said to be unhappy with his situation at Old Trafford where he is not a preferred starter, and has been forced to play in a left-wing position when he has been brought on as a substitute. Despite this, he has scored 3 Premier League goals and provided 2 assists already this season, and was named man of the match after United’s recent 4-1 victory against CSKA in Moscow recently.
