Real Madrid considering mega-bid for Tottenham star

tottenham transfer news

According to Spanish website Don Ballon, Real Madrid are considering making a €200m (£177m) bid for Tottenham striker Harry Kane next summer.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is in the market for a top striker, and although Karim Benzema has just signed a new 4-year deal at the Bernabeu, there is increasing pressure at the Spanish giants to sign a high-quality replacement.

Kane is in fine form for both club and country, having scored 11 goals for Spurs in all competitions this season, looking odds-on to secure a third consecutive Premier League golden boot. He is also likely to lead the line for England in next year’s World Cup should they qualify – which looks highly probable.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is a notoriously tough negotiator and will make Real pay highly for his most prized asset. However, Kane, who recently said that he wanted to measure himself against the likes of Messi and Ronaldo, may welcome the chance to do so by playing in La Liga.
