Metro reports that Serie A giants Inter Milan are interested in signing Arsenal stalwart at the end of the current season. The German international Mesut Ozil is in the final year of his contract with Arsenal, and has refused to sign a new deal, despite a large offer being on the table for him.
Mesut Ozil has made 166 appearances for the Gunners since signing for them in 2013. However, faced with losing him for free on a Bosman-transfer at the end of the season, the club are actively looking for somebody to take Ozil off their hands in the January window, amidst rumours that manager Arsene Wenger no longer has complete trust in the player because of his contractual situation.
Inter chairman and minority owner Erick Thohir has confirmed that the club are definitely looking at the possibility of signing Ozil, but have ruled out a swap deal with Inter’s Portuguese midfielder, Joao Maria, who the Italians want to keep.
