The Sun reports that the Premier League outfit are the favourites to sign Uruguayan forward Edison Cavani should he decide to leave PSG in January.
Chelsea are keen to take advantage of Cavani’s very public falling-out with PSG new boy Neymar over penalty responsibilities, which has since escalated with reports that he has turned down an offer of €1 million (£880,000) if he steps aside and lets his Brazilian team mate takes spot kicks instead.
Now it looks like the French club may be willing to let Cavani leave – doing so, would not only help them meet the requirements of FFP (Financial Fair Play) but also keep Neymar, who is now clearly the top dog in Paris, happy.
Chelsea’s coffers have been swollen by the money they have received from the sale of Diego Costa, and regard Cavani as an ideal replacement, because he can either play alongside Morata upfront or on the right side of the attack.
