Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is looking to bring in Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes from Barcelona.
‘The Special One’ is keen to acquire his compatriot’s services and believes he can get the best out of him, something that neither Luis Enrique nor Ernesto Valverde have been capable of so far.
The Blaugrana giants signed Andre Gomes from Valencia for €35 million last summer, and it was well known that Florentino Perez and Real Madrid were also interested in acquiring him at the time.
As a consequence of his mediocre performances at the Camp Nou, Gomes’ market value has gone down by a considerable amount and Manchester United manager Mourinho is planning to take advantage of that and add in a quality player to his already stacked midfield. He is reportedly convinced that the 24-year-old will regain top form under his leadership.
According to the Spanish magazine Don Balon, Florentino Perez knows about his former employee’s intentions of stealing Gomes from his archrivals Barcelona.
