Euro 2016: 5 Young Stars to watch out for

Arkadiusz Milik

The youngster has become a potent force up front for Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam, having contributed eight goals and seven assists to their cause in the Eredivisie so far as they attempt to win the league this term. The 21-year-old has carved himself a regular first team spot in the Poland national team and his partnership with Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski was at times a sight to behold during the qualification fixtures. It will be hard for the opposition defenders to contain the Polish duo of Lewandowski and Milik.

Leroy Sane

The young German is son of former Senegal international Souleyman Sane and Olympic gymnast Regina Weber. He first gave glimpses of his prodigious talent during the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid last season and has gone on to be regarded as one of the most talented players in the Bundesliga. Apparently, Pep Guardiola is eyeing to make him the first signing of his probable Manchester City stint. It is rising stars like Sane that make Germany such big favourites for the Euros this coming summer.

Paco Alcacer

Lucas Perez at Deportivo La Coruna and Aritz Aduriz at Athletic Bilbao are having seasons of their lives, but it remains highly likely that Paco Alcacer will be Vicente del Bosque’s favoured striker in France this summer and there is good reason for it too. The Valencia forward had a terrific league campaign last term to help his side qualify for the Champions League after a long wait. And he has increasingly been one of the few bright spots at the Mestalla this season in a team that struggles to find its form despite the appointment of Gary Neville at the helm.

Kingsley Coman

The young Frenchman, still only 19, has carved himself a spot in a stacked Bayern Munich line-up. Guardiola took him on a loan from Juventus and the youngster has been one of the many bright spots for the reigning German champions, having scored three times and assisted twice in the league so far. Karim Benzema looks likely to miss out on the French national team selection for the Euros, thereby paving the way for Coman to shine at his home tournament.

Hector Bellerin

The young Arsenal defender has been one of the brightest stars in the Gunners’ squad since he made a foray into their first team last season. He is likely to contest for a spot in La Furia Roja’s first team with Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta. And by the looks of it is going to be an even battle between the two, such has been the Catalan’s rise in the last one year.
